Biography

Dr. Persinger grew up just north of Springfield in Champaign County.
He attended medical school at Wright State and then traveled to
North Dakota where he completed his surgery residency with the
University of North Dakota. He stayed on in North Dakota working as
a general surgeon and professor of surgery with the university until
accepting a position with Mercy Health and moving back home to
Springfield.
Dr. Persinger is happy to be back closer to family and friends in the
Spring field area. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife
and two young daughters as well as running, medical mission work,
motorcycle riding and being active in his local church.
